Smile is a 2022 psychological horror film. The plot to Smile is as follows: After witnessing a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient, Dr. Rose Cotter starts experiencing frightening occurrences that she can’t explain. As an overwhelming terror begin taking over her life, Rose must confront her troubling past in order to survive and escape her new reality. Sounds great doesn’t it. The movie grabbed me from the beginning. The movie is fast paced, well acted, has a great amount of jump scares, and real scares (almost to many for me lol). This film is most definitely worth a watch. It is rated , by me, 8 out of 10 stars. I highly recommend seeing this film in theaters, if possible, for the full experience of all the incredible sounds throughout the movie that help set the creepy tone, that builds up at a fast pace, to make this a very scary and enjoyable movie.
I also love the way that no scene in the movie is to dark to see. It is a very big peeve of mine when a movie has scenes they filmed so dark to can not see anything that is going on. I love that this was not a film that I could tell from the beginning how it was going to end. The characters were developed very well. The acting was great. The effects ,especially the make up, were excellent. I feel this movie was very original. The movie also leaves you thinking about it days after the movie ends, it was not forgettable at all.
I saw a trailer for a movie coming out next month called The Menu, I will be reviewing this movie for sure, it looks awesome.
I will be doing a review as well that discusses specifics of Smile if you would like to read that as well.
